Description

Marty's Diesel Economy level transmission is very similar to what you would get by using a Ford or Jasper reman - but at a lower cost and by the hands of someone who cares about their product.

This transmission will include all stock internal hard parts, a complete paper rubber gasket kit and all new stock style Borg Warner clutches coupled with a complete Raybestos steel kit. This transmission will also include a new OEM style single disc torque converter with a stamped front cover. A new - year specific internal filter as well as both external sensors will be included with your transmission. The front pump is either modified or replaced depending on the quality of the core supplied. One deviation from OEM is that we will tighten the direct drum up to between .045"-.055". This change will result in better 3-5 shifting and help you avoid the most common clutch related issue in the 5R110. Each case will be pressure washed and then cycled through our Ranger Heated parts washer before assembly. Every unit will include a new bearing kit and any hardware that is unsatisfactory will be replaced.

Installation

Installed at Marty's Diesel 

We offer professional installation that includes replacing the transmission cooler or hot-flushing it depending upon the severity of your transmission failure as well as the condition of your air to fluid cooler. Installation also includes the reading/clearing of codes and KAM (Keep Alive Memory) as well as a TCM relearn. We will also be replacing the external filter/O-ring as well as flushing out the cooler located in the radiator with Kooler Kleen. Transmission cooler lines can/will be replaced at the same time as needed. We will ensure proper installation and will make sure that the truck is 100% ready to drive down the road when you pick it up. 


Carry In transmissions (bench units)

If you choose to install the transmission yourself, or have a shop do it for you - you will be required to replace the air to fluid transmission cooler. You or the shop will need to replace the external filter and O-ring and any transmission lines that are not in great shape. Products like Kooler Kleen must also be used to flush out the cooler located in the radiator as well as the lines themselves. Mercon LV is suggested for use with this transmission. We offer all of these aforementioned items separately and you can find them linked on this webpage. During installation - you must maintain the installed depth of the torque converter that we have written down on the face of the unit. This measurement is ALWAYS taken from the STUD PAD to the bell housing face. Typically on stock style torque converters it will be 15/16". If you are unsure on HOW to measure this - contact us BEFORE you install the transmission. Reminder - installation errors will VOID your warranty! New torque converter nuts should be installed and torqued in a diagonal/star pattern (like a wheel) to 45ft/lbs. When placing your order - you will need to supply us with a list of codes the PCM has, including engine codes and symptoms your failing transmission is experiencing. This will ensure the best repair possible. You will also need to be able to clear codes and KAM (Keep Alive Memory) and perform a transmission relearn.

This transmission comes with a 1 year/unlimited mile warranty on verified stock calibrated trucks.
Warranty includes parts and labor, but other consequential items such as, towing, installation, etc are NOT included in the warranty.
All warranty work MUST be completed at and by Marty’s Diesel. Marty’s Diesel does not offer any reimbursements if warranty work is completed by another shop.
Trucks with power adders will include NO WARRANTY.
Warranty will be voided if the failure is due to an increase in engine calibration beyond the scope of the transmission build level.
